RENUE only uses fabrics that produce low emissions. Materials
used include TENCEL™ Lyocell, a super soft regenerative fibre made from wood pulp, which uses less emissions than traditional materials such as cotton, and viscose ECOVERO™ which produces 50% lower emissions than generic viscose. RENUE also use TINTEX, a leader in performance, high-tech fabrics. The particular TINTEX fabric used is made from 90% Recycled Polyester 10% Elastane using recycled consumer waste, to avoid the need for creating virgin materials which lead to further emissions. A study by the soil association also found that organic cotton, which is used by RENUE, results in a 46% reduction in global warming potential compared to non-organic cotton.

RENUE only work with fabrics that have limited environmental impact and can importantly be regenerated and renewed after usage. The Tencel Triangle Bra and Pointelle set are biodegradable once all trims are removed. All of the packaging used is recyclable and kept to the minimum to avoid producing excess.

The choice of fabrics used means that RENUE use significantly less water than traditionally made underwear. ECOVERO™ viscose uses 50% less water to make than generic viscose, whilst TENCEL™’s closed-loop production system captures and reuses 99.5% of water and solvents. RENUE also uses organic cotton which uses up 91% less water in the growing process than
regular cotton.
