Emissions

LAM makes a huge effort to ensure that all materials used are the most ethical, low impact as they can be. They ensure that the yarn used is always part of a verified organisation who regulates the ethical measures of the production. This includes using Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton which has 19% lower emissions than production of cotton elsewhere, and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Viscose, ensuring sustainably managed plantations. This product also includes recycled nylon, which diverts waste from landfills and its production uses much fewer resources than virgin nylon. All packaging used is fully recyclable with no plastic, reducing the amount of energy needed and emissions produced.

Circularity

This Grace jumper is made using both recycled fibres and sustainably sourced natural fibres that adhere to Animal Welfare Policy where applicable. This includes Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) Extra Fine Merino Wool, Cashmere which adheres to the GCS (Good Cashmere Standard) and SFA (Sustainable Fibre Allowance) standards, as well as BCI cotton and FSC certified viscose. LAM keep all their product sampling to an absolute minimum, and ensure all yarn is accounted for an used.

Water Consumption

The mill used by LAM Clothing uses only environmentally friendly dyes. 60% of the water used at the dye house is recycled back into the production process through a wastewater treatment plant. All chemicals used must meet strict toxicity and biodegradability criteria. The dyes are certified and meet OEKO-TEX standard 100, INTERTEK (who approve chemical safety) and REACH standards. Additionally, the dyes are high absorbency, which directly leads to less water and energy consumption. The mill used is a proud member of ISO, bringing together worldwide members to share expert market based relevant information to support and provide solutions to global challenges.

Workers Rights

LAM is committed to better workers rights, working closely with their factory who have WRAP Compliance certification. This shows they are dedicated to ethical and responsible business standards. It demonstrates they obey the laws of their country, treat workers with dignity and respect, and are conscious of the impact their operation has on the environment. The WRAP certificate is a recognized symbol of a commitment to uphold social and ethical standards. LAM also uses fabrics which have been certified by organisation including BCI and FSC.
